Japan 2019

This was our first trip to Japan and we choose Osaka/Kyoto. It started out a bit rough, what should have taken 1 hour to commute from Kansai Airport to the hotel actually took 2 hours. The train/subway system was intimidating at first. What greeted us at the Premier Cabin Hotel was a small comfy room …

Buggy

In the middle of grilling lunch I spotted this bug on the trash can.

Dog Surfing 2019

I decided to checkout the Dog Surfing Competition in Pacifica after hearing about for years. I couldn’t stay long and they were running late. So not much in the way of surfing pix. There was so much moisture in the air I had to wipe off the front of my lens every 10 seconds or …

Blind Duckies

August is a bit late in the year for new duckies. This is the 1st time we had yellow ducklings. Sadly we think two are blind as they are putting out a distressed call and just swimming in circles.

Country Time

I had work in Marysville and ended up spending the night in Yuba City. I wasn’t prepared for the roosters & chickens at the hotel. Oh and no alarm clock needed.

Osprey II

Back up to Lakeport for work, so I reshot the Osprey family. I think they were nervous as they took flight as soon as I got close.

Osprey

After leaving the hospital in Lakeport, I saw what I can only describe as an Osprey pallet. The mid-day lighting was horrible.

Burd Bonanza

I don’t know why but there were so many birds out in the lagoon this morning. Perhaps the fishing was good, as every burd was fighting for the best spot.

As the World Terns

It’s been said that the best camera you have is the one that is in your hands. I had my tiny compact Sony RX100VI that shoots stills at 24 fps.

Whale’s Tale

I just spent 4 hrs today trying to get a photo of the female Humpback Whale circling in the Alameda lagoon. She would surface every few mins but only show her upper fin. It was quite the circus atmosphere. I got distracted and shot all sorts of other things.
