The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
Think I’ll start a random photo posting every week.
I’m often asked what camera to buy…to which I usually reply, I don’t know! I don’t walk around with a digital camera encyclopedia in my pocket.
Any decent camera will take good photos. You have to learn the strengths and weaknesses of the camera and work around/with them.
Here are some shots from my 1st digital camera, a Toshiba PDR-M5 2.1MP from 2000. Now that was a bad camera. The autofocus was terrible, the exposure equally as bad. Certainly by today’s standards the technical quality leaves a bit to be desired. But these are decent photos.
My point is it’s not the camera that makes the difference. It’s learning the principles of light. Photo = Light, Graph = Recording. Photography is the recording of light.
BTW I have a lot to learn yet.
Today during lunch I spent a few minutes at the Legion of Honor.
While I was out of town, Sandy called me up one night asking why I cut the screen on the window. I had no idea what she was talking about, but when I got home I noticed the large gap in the screen and assumed it was from the windy nights.
This morning Sandy spotted the problem…
Just got back from a national service meeting in Memphis. Unfortunately it was a 73 hour work week so I was a bit on the tired side and didn’t take many photos.
As it usually happens I fly in, work 12 hour days and nothing else. I did get to sneak out just before going to the airport to snap a photo.
Pay the mortgage or fill the tank?
Today we paid tribute to Chris on his 4oth Birthday at Negro Bar Campground, Folsom. I had no idea he could walk on water.
Of course as usual, I saw the Airport, Hospital & Hotel. Pretty pathetic when you go to Alaska and your only photos are at the airport.
On my way to San Rafael today. Unfortunately this pano doesn’t show well at this low rez. You can see the San Rafael Bridge off on the right.
