We’ve all seen seen it while traveling on I280. Father Junipero Serra statue.
Last year for Christmas, Jim & Kelly gave us … Duck Butts. Actually, it’s a coat hanger. The piece of art rested in various places at the house until we decided that the ideal place to hang the butts was in the downstairs bathroom.
It replaces the existing towel rack so that had to be removed, which left white patches on the wall. So the wall had to be spackled and painted. Since we couldn’t match the existing paint, we decided to paint the whole room. Since we were going to paint, we thought we might as well replace the ugly lights. Might as well tile the floor, too. While we were at it, we replaced the old 1st generation low flush toilet. The molding got destroyed during demolition, so we replaced that, too.
Three weeks later, we finally hung the Duck Butts. Thanks Jim & Kelly. Give a fruit cake next time!
After being down all week with the mean flu, it was great to be able to go out and see some family. Jen was nice enough to organize a birthday get together for me. Asked where I wanted to go, I thought of PJ’s Oysterbed. The 1st and last time I was there was the night I met Sandy on a blind date. I believe it was 1997.
The food was great, the memories even better.
I’ve seen the Memorial a number of times driving by the Lafayette BART Station. Thought I’d stop today and take a couple of pix.
I’ve driven by a few times but today I decided to stop and shoot a pano. The Sunol Water Temple just south of Hwy 84 between 680 & 880.
I’ve been talking about this so much lately… Sandy was nice enough to get me a bottle for V Day. Isn’t she the best! Jimi & Jim when you guys coming over?
For dinner I grilled a duck… store bought not yard caught, then we watched Underdog.
I’ve seen the temple from a distance at night from many different angles. I’ve always wanted to drive up there and photograph it. Well today is that day and/or evening.
It was bound to happen, that empty lot behind us is getting developed. Lucky for us the developer is working with the Association so I’m hoping for the best. They’re talking about a small cafĂ© by the Ferry Terminal, that would be cool.
Regardless our bay view will be changing this time next year.
With the advent of my new stitching software, I went digging for some more panos. I found one from our Philippine trip in 2006.
Today I got together with my coworkers for an early dinner meeting at Skates. This rarely happens… in fact, it’s the 1st time. There are only three of us in Northern California.
Dinner was great as usual. Of course I had to run off and shoot a panorama of the Berkeley Pier.
