My Canon SL1 arrived Friday and a used 40mm STM lens separately. I’m constantly trying to find the right camera with the speed and quality of my big cam in a small package. The S100, G1X & EOS-M are all good cameras but they are much too slow when trying to shoot a constantly moving Noah or a stupid burd that doesn’t understand my, “freeze I’m trying to take your picture” commands.
S100 is slow and does not have a viewfinder. I love that it focuses at a very close 1.2″ macro. No port for a cable release. Small sensor.

G1x has a big sensor which produces great images. It has a hot shoe, but 1.3′ min focus distance. It is also slow.

EOS-M is versatile with the ability to take all my EOS lenses & accessories. Slow focus (wait new firmware update), no viewfinder, no port for a cable release. I’ve changed settings while wearing it around my neck as my big belly rubs on the touchscreen. No on board flash.

So if I have to shoot something fast moving I have to bring my big cam which I hate to do as it gets to be a burden. I’m hoping the SL1 will fill that void. More to comeā¦

Wow. Sharpitudinous!
