I was beat from all the commuting & shooting the last 2 days, but Sandy wanted to go watch the Blue Angels take off from Oakland. This is a different perspective than I usual get.

As usual the opportunity to photograph the Blue Angels is such a draw for me. This year I signed up for a workshop on Saturday that enabled me to get rooftop access at a great location to the Fleet Week festivities. Without a big DSLR to weigh me down, I brought along my A6500 with a 70-300mm lens. I tested this setup on Friday and it worked out fine so Saturday was a go. Here is a combination of Friday & Saturday. I apologize after awhile all these start to look the same.

The Blue Angels are getting ready for Fleet Week. I grabbed this at the Oakland Airport during a practice run.

Thursday I had my little RX1006 with me when they flew overhead. I quickly got on top of the parking garage and shot a couple.

I was watching the clouds tonight as lately they have been thick and low around sunset which acts as a curtain. Tonight the clouds showed some promise but the color were so dull. I had to crank em up in post processing.

I realize that I never photographed the new section of the Bay Bridge.

Our neighbor asked for an updated headshot for work. In turn I asked for a portrait session at City Hall. Susannah was kind enough to oblige. I used magmod light modifiers on this shoot.

Had to work in Ukiah so rather than sit in the hotel I ventured out to shoot something and to have dinner at the Golden Pig.

Izzy & family were out visiting from AZ and Damon requested a photoshoot of the bridge. It was a gloomy day in San Francisco, I brought a half charged and a dead battery! It was a long hike back up to the car. When we got home I muttered something to Sandy about my condition. She quickly responded, “You’re having dessert?” I said no my calves hurt… We need hearing aids

If the skies are overcast I usually go black & white in post processing. Below I tried to use split toning in Lightroom. I’m not completely satisfied with the results.

Saw a heron this morning so I thought I would shoot em while testing my Sony 70-300mm.
