I made a trip out to Coyote Hills.

That deer was watching me.

Found this guy on my windshield, so I asked if it was ok to shoot em.

Captured while at work & brought em over for a photoshoot. This proved to be quite difficult as he was pretty active. I had to ditch the tripod, but all this moving around created sll sorts of motion blur.

Went back to Livermore and while there were bunches and bunches of Turkeys, what caught my eye was the Deer… in the parking lot.

Had to go to Livermore today and it only seems appropriate that I run into Turkeys this time of year.

We had Koa over last week for a little visit. More importantly I tried my Godox TT350 in the S1 mode. In the S1 mode and flash will trigger the Godox. Now since my Sony RX100V is my most utilized camera I’ve always wanted to do off camera flash shots with it, but the lack of hot shoe prevented me from doing this. I hoped this S1 mode would be a game changer but as you can see from the 2nd shot the Godox would not fire in bright sunlight. I’ll have to work around those limitations.

Grabbed a Daddy Long Legs Spider for a portrait shoot.

While lying in bed I noticed a swarm of crows circling & diving down next door. That can only mean one thing… a threat is nearby, so grab your camera.

Also saw what we call paprika heads.

I saw on the news there is a pair of nesting bald eagles in Milpitas. I spent 4 hrs waiting for something exciting to happen. Other than a small hawk chasing the male it was boring and uneventful.

My variable ND filter fiasco lead me to try a Fotodiox Sony adapter. Now I can use any of my Canon lenses on my Sony which is cool but more importantly it has a built in variable ND filter.

A week ago I made an attempt to go to Alamere Falls but I wasn’t quite prepared and I took the wrong trail and ended up coming back without any photos. This time I returned with Sandy and we took the proper route. It was a long haul (13mi round trip) full of flora & small critters.

Using the Fotodiox adapter was challenging as the auto focus did not work so I had to manually focus in bright sunlight on a LCD screen.

I was using a new Sony A6500 and like a dumbass I neglected to set it to raw capture, so my post processing was limited.

The tide was too high to get a good angle on the lower falls, which meant I ran out in between waves to get a mediocre shot.
