Greenwich

As we do from time to time, we followed Jon to CT & NYC to play while he works. We stayed at an incredible house that was hosted by Inez & Al, two of the nicest folks ever. Lunch was at a little place downtown called, Mediterraneo. I loved the octopus. For dinner we met up …

Sistah Shoot

My SIL Pinky flew in from Manila on a vacation. It took awhile but we finally got down to a photoshoot.

Mad Chemistry Teacher

Sandy had the great idea to shoot a Kathy Portrait in a chemistry setting. I faced obstacles as usual. I forgot to put in fresh batteries in my speedlites (rookie) which gave me inconsistent results & it was the 1st time I used a fog machine.

Pork & Portraits

We met up with Jon & Kathy to talk about a New York trip. Jon suggested Naschmarkt Restaurant. We never had Austrian food before so we jumped at the chance. Needless to say the Pork Belly was so damn good. I did have to take 6 Lipitors on the way back to the car though. …

6963 mile Lengua Throwdown

When I taste something good, I try to recreate it while adding my own touch. Mommi’s lengua is one of those dishes. Now while Mommi was not here we thawed a portion from the freezer. I topped mine with 3 types of mushrooms. In fairness I should wait til her next visit for the actual throwdown.

Christmas Eve 2013

We went to Jon & Kathy’s for our annual Christmas Party. I tried to keep my picture taking to a minimum, but had to take portraits. I need to change my methodology. I was so intent on getting the bokeh from the Christmas tree lights and I was shooting at f2-2.8. This created some focus …

Nico Yuen

Tonight I had an appointment with Nico. He was more interested in eating than posing for photos. Okay a week later take 2. I tried something different, a Gary Fong collapsible  powersnoot.

Noah is a cowboy

I wanted to shoot Noah in his Halloween costume as we won’t be able to see him Thursday night. Since he is a cowboy this year, I thought the perfect place would be Heinold’s in Jack London Square. I inspected the location earlier and had everything planned out. Of course Noah had a different plan …
