Today we were lucky to get a visit from Pearl & Jerry on their way to Santa Cruz. We prepared lunch and were entertained by Jack n Jenna.

Company Picnic
It was one of those rare occasions when I get together with my coworkers. There are only 3 of us in Northern California. We grilled an assortment of good eats – country style boneless pork ribs, salmon with curry sauce and mixed veggies. We filled our guts and had some stimulating conversation.
Oh, Taylor was nice enough to cut our grass too.
Chris & Tami Wed
Last night we were part of a heartwarming event, the Yuen Wedding. The ceremony was held at the Japanese Tea Garden in San Mateo. Tami was a gorgeous bride. Unfortunately lighting conditions were horrible and therefore I didn’t get much in the way of pictures. The reception was a few miles away at the Hillsborough Racquet Club. The crowd was mixed and full of beautiful energetic people.
Canon SD800
Contrary to what my Sister IL believes, I make note of when Sandy’s photos are used not because I want to separate myself from her point and shoot camera, but to show that you don’t need a big monster camera to take good pictures.
Now that we’re home and I’m looking through Sandy’s shots I came across a couple from the day they were at Anvaya. I didn’t pay attention in the Philippines because I lacked the pano stitching software.
Manila Randomness
We are now home and full of jetlaggedness. Here are some random photos that didn’t make the blog earlier. They are photos taken by Tante, Sandy, Pinky, the official Presidential photographer and a couple of panos by me.
I’d like to take this time to thank our family and friends for making this vacation so wonderful, except those frickin mosquitoes. Mabuhay!
Mega Dado
Today we went to the SM Mega Mall to get some last minute gifts. Just as we were leaving, a folk song played on the intercom which brought all the sales associates out to the aisles to sing and clap along.
With all this shopping we got hungry and met the rest of the family at Dad’s for a buffet lunch. I don’t like buffets for a number of reasons, one being that I eat too much. We did get serenaded though.
We parted ways after lunch and this left us feeling empty inside… so Alex and I got Beard Papa’s cream puffs.
With full guts we drove out to Kuya Dado’s house in Antipolo for dinner. Uh it kinda reminded me of the buffet lunch. Way too much food. Got to love that hospitality though. We also got a yo-yo demonstration by Marco and Alex proved that when it comes to eating Balut, fear is not a factor.
Under the Beach Weather
Since I’m under the weather (I caught Daddy’s cold) I decided to stay home and rest while everyone else went on a day trip to the Anvaya Cove Beach Resort. That was a mistake. Following are photos from Sandy’s SD800.
Protest
On July 28, the President gave a State of the Nation Address before the Congress. Needless to say there was a protest.
Wine Depot
Tonight we met some of Sandy’s former coworkers at the Wine Depot. It’s a small wine shop with an even smaller restaurant in the back. Dinner was excellent! I had bacon wrapped lamb chop.
