Jon had a concert scheduled in Reno so we decided tag along and spend the weekend. We stayed at the Siena right across the venue. I had a bit of work to do in town on Friday and was lucky enough to have dinner with Arlene at Da Vinci’s in the hotel.
Sandy flew in on Saturday and we got a peek of Jon’s performance during a rehearsal at the Pioneer Center.
For lunch we found a Filipino place call Pearl of the East. Pork BBQ, sisig, chop suey and rice.
Later that night we had dinner with Jon & Kathy at La Famiglia. While the food was great, the accordion music was not to my liking. We spent the rest of the evening strolling down the main drag in Reno.
On Sunday morning, while Sandy went to church with cousins Anna & Steve, I pigged out at Peg’s Glorified Ham n Eggs . The Bananas Foster Belgian Waffle was extremely delicious, but my pants became quite tight after that.
Needless to say the concert was incredible. I can’t say enough about Jon’s musical prowess. It’s hard to believe a no-talent-hack like me can be related to him.
Monday morning we awoke to a bit of snow. We started our drive home soon after breakfast but made a stop in Sacramento for some ramen at Shoki Ramen House.
Great to share the weekend in Reno with you and Sandy!!! Fun times!
Yes – very hard to believe!
