Christmas Eve 2011

This year Jon & Kathy got bullied into hosting Christmas Eve, by Aunty Karen. She also made Jimi cook dinner? As I mentioned earlier I have to get better at shooting portraits so I used this opportunity to try a few. I lugged a car full of equipment so I could try some new gear. …

Noah’s 1st Thanksgiving

Fun with the family, as usual. Enough food to feed an army, as usual. The worst part of the evening? While I was carving the burd Noah got his 1st taste of turkey… he absolutely hated it, spit it out in dramatic fashion. I would have loved to have captured that moment.

Labor Intensive 2011

As it is customary we celebrated Labor Day at our place. We had the family over armed with appetizers and we served a smoked duck appetizer as well. On the menu kalua pork with pechay, grilled ribs, steak salad. Kathy brought over a tofu salad. For desert Aunty Janet brought a great high calorie Okinawan …

The day B4 July 4th eve…

July 2nd in other words. We all met at Jon & Kathy’s for an old fashioned BBQ party. As usual I spent too much time stuffing my face and laughing at high volumes and didn’t take any photos.

Memorial Day 2011

I usually go to our local Veterans park to photograph the Memorial Day events, but this year I forgot and committed to a family outing in San Francisco. It didn’t feel right skipping this tradition, so I went out to the Golden Gate National Cemetery in San Bruno yesterday to shoot a few photos to …

MLK Day

We both had the day off so after a nice breakfast of duck hash & eggs, we drove to the local shopping center to do some errands. We sat in the car listening to the MLK I Have a Dream speech. It was quite inspirational. For Christmas, Sandy gave me a gift certificate for a number …

SD Christmas

We flew into San Diego on Christmas morning for a short family visit. As usual Rhea forced me to drink too much, and I had a lot of fun (they go hand in hand). Therefore I didn’t take any photos. I will borrow Alex’s G10 when he gets up here and post his photos. I …

Christmas Eve 2010

I think it’s been 3 years since celebrated Christmas at the Nakamatsu’s. Jimi made an incredible Italian dinner which I forgot to photograph. The braised pork in milk was excellent. Of course the gag gift session was very Italian and Tami & Chris had a very special announcement.

Merry Christmas Bokeh

I bought a Bokeh Masters Kit with the intention of creating a snail mail Christmas card. Well of course I waited too long, but it did give me a chance to experiment with it. Anyway, Merry Christmas.

Labor Day 2010

This year’s Labor Day celebration was a little tough as I was out sick the entire week before. We tried to keep it simple as we are preparing to go to Italy soon. Thanks to everyone for pitching in and helping. Also thanks to Jen for using my camera to grab a few shots. To …
