Memorial Day 2008

Rather than treat this as another day off and grill a big steak for dinner, I thought I’d go to the Memorial Day service here at Bay Farm Island to remember those who gave their lives for our country. Then we went to our neighbor’s house for a steak dinner.

Mum’s Day 08

This year, we wanted to do something special for the Moms, so Sandy and I planned a five-course meal for lunch. Then Jimi got involved and kicked it up a notch … or should I say 6 notches. The menu became very complex! I had visions of Hell’s Kitchen. It took days to prepare for the event. Happily everything …

Burds Nest

While I was out of town, Sandy called me up one night asking why I cut the screen on the window. I had no idea what she was talking about, but when I got home I noticed the large gap in the screen and assumed it was from the windy nights. This morning Sandy spotted …

Chris is 40

Today we paid tribute to Chris on his 4oth Birthday at Negro Bar Campground, Folsom. I had no idea he could walk on water.

Memorial

I’ve seen the Memorial a number of times driving by the Lafayette BART Station. Thought I’d stop today and take a couple of pix.

LDS Oakland

I’ve seen the temple from a distance at night from many different angles. I’ve always wanted to drive up there and photograph it. Well today is that day and/or evening.

Found another one

With the advent of my new stitching software, I went digging for some more panos. I found one from our Philippine trip in 2006.

Happy New Year 2008

We had a low key New Years Eve celebration. But we started 2008 started with a nice brunch. We invited Tita Nellie and Doctors Ben & Paulette over for brunch and for whatever reason we decided to serve a five-course meal. Of course I forgot to take a single photo of the dishes. I was happy everyone …

Napa Wine Tasting

Today Daddy wanted to go wine tasting in Napa. I got a recommendation to try a famous restaurant in Rutherford but by the time we got there it was an hour wait. So we drove down the road and ended up at “Go Fish“. The food and service were excellent. I loved the sturgeon, the …

Christmas Eve Wii

This year we went to Auntie Amy’s for Christmas Eve. As she usually does, there was enough food to feed ten families and everything was terrific. After dinner Jen & Rick whipped out their Wii unit. Now I’m not into video games but I’ll have to admit I had fun. Special Thanks to Lyle for …
