Remote Wildlife Shooting

I spent 2 hours of my time trying to use the wireless remote capture function on my Sony via the iphone. The app is underdeveloped and I gave up. Canon saved the day, using the EOS-M5 I got a decent shot. It’s a unusual situation in that for whatever reason the baby hummer waits in …

Hangry

Everyone was hungry this evening. The baby hummingbird was squawking (loudly) waiting to be fed & the egret was having sashimi.

Work took me down south, so I stopped by Shark Fin Cove again.

Damn Terns

Over the years I’ve spent an enormous amount of time trying to photograph the diving terns. I can never seem to get a shot I like, as they fly so fast. Even the phoebe stopped feeding to watch the terns.

Uma Casa

We had an impromptu date night. Portuguese dinner at Uma Casa. I have to say it was one of the better meals I’ve had in a while.

Survival of the fittest… or the luckiest

I had the day off so I spent some time watching the lagoon activity. It’s the same every year. The bully drakes chase the new mother hens which forces them to fly away leaving their young to fend for themselves. This noisy activity is like a lunch call to the night herons.

Duck Drama

Blondie introduced her brood to the lagoon this morning. She started out with 12 and by Sunday there were 9.

GRFX Studio

Just downloaded a free version of GRFX Studio. I used it to replace the boring sky in the Shark Fin Cove photo below. Yes, this can be done in Photoshop, but this software just makes it easier. I liked the result so much I had it printed 20×30.
