Now that Christmas morning has passed I can post Noah’s portrait that Tami & Chris asked me to shoot for a Christmas present. I love this tugging on his socks shot. He so cute!

This year Jon & Kathy got bullied into hosting Christmas Eve, by Aunty Karen. She also made Jimi cook dinner?
As I mentioned earlier I have to get better at shooting portraits so I used this opportunity to try a few. I lugged a car full of equipment so I could try some new gear. Unfortunately I ran out of time and did not get any more than the group shots.

Friday we did something we never do, have a sushi lunch. It was strange being at Angel Fish with the sun still up and not slurping down my favorite beer Echigo.

Had Vietnamese Bánh Mi for lunch yesterday. As I was walking out I noticed a ramen shop next door, Doh! I love tonkotsu ramen, so today I twisted Sandy’s arm and we went to Dublin. After all that driving it was just okay. The ramen quest continues…

I plan on shooting portraits at our annual Christmas Party so I wanted to practice a bit. I let Sandy shoot me too.

Sandy brought home a lovely orchid for me.

I’m embarrassed to say that I had dinner at the Holiday Inn in Redding, but it was really good. Osso Buco!

Tonight we charted new territory by participating in a progressive dinner with a few of our neighbors. Appetizers were at the Heidi & Michael’s (happy birthday, Heidi!), salad was at our place, Ophelia prepared a leg of lamb and dessert was at Lynn & Bill’s place. Luckily the distance was reasonable which worked out great as we didn’t have to worry about driving. I made some nice pumpkin martini’s.

Fun with the family, as usual. Enough food to feed an army, as usual. The worst part of the evening? While I was carving the burd Noah got his 1st taste of turkey… he absolutely hated it, spit it out in dramatic fashion. I would have loved to have captured that moment.
