I found some of Daddy’s leftover steak and since neither one of us got to eat it yesterday I made a steak, broiled mushroom & quail egg salad for dinner. Had to follow this up with a Chocolate martini.

Labor Intensive 2011
As it is customary we celebrated Labor Day at our place. We had the family over armed with appetizers and we served a smoked duck appetizer as well. On the menu kalua pork with pechay, grilled ribs, steak salad. Kathy brought over a tofu salad. For desert Aunty Janet brought a great high calorie Okinawan purple potato hoapia pie and I made chocolate martinis. As usual we were so focused on the food I didn’t take any photos. Oh and I was on call and didn’t know it til my phone started ringing.
Ikeda’s in Auburn
Had a BLT lunch today at Ikeda’s in Auburn. Uh had the peach pie too.
Pearly Gurly
Pearl was in town so we met her for dinner at Buon Gusto Ristorante in South San Francisco. On the way home I took a detour to Treasure Island for a couple of bridge shots.

Tonight Mommi & Daddy left for the Philippines.

Tonight we had a Chinese dinner at Harborview.

In the backyard? We picked up some sandwiches at Panera and had lunch on the lower patio.
XI yrs of marital bliss
Today marks our 11th year together. I couldn’t get the day off so we’ll do a very low key celebration. As it turns out I had a call in Redding so I didn’t get home til 10:30 at night.
Jelly Belly
Sandy met up with Tita Susan, Suzette & the boys. She delivered some very thoughtful goodies… Uh I haven’t had the guts to try the skunk spray. I think that needs to be followed by a shot of tomato juice.
Surfin Mommi
Today we presented Mommi with her new Dell laptop. We are actively setting up an email account and a crash course in all things digital. I loaded open office BTW a free MS Office compatible software suite. Well actually I donated 20 euros to the organization.
