The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
This year the Mutha’s Day festivities were held at Rick & Jen’s. Thanks R & J.
Thursday I received my 64GB 3G iPad. I hope it was worth it. So far it’s been great, I love the instant ON feature. Now if I could just get it away from Sandy…
Last night we made the trek to Yoshi’s in the city. We had dinner and then attended Jon’s performance. While the food was okay the music was incredible, even though it wasn’t jazz! I can’t help but feel lucky to have good friends, family and a cousin that kicks butt on the piano. Jon opens up a whole new world of music for me that I would have never experienced without him. Thanks to Jon. Aw, life is good.
There was a duck scuffle yesterday and I had to call the police, domestic violence department. Apparently there was a instance of duck infidelity. It felt like the Jerry Springer show.
Last night we headed on down to HP Pavilion in San Jose to see the Eagles. I haven’t seen them since 1996.
We picked up Kathy and had dinner at Taqueria Tlaquepaque. I ate too much so the girls rolled me out and threw me in the trunk. The next thing I remember we were at the venue.
Needless to say the Eagles in their Assisted Living Tour were incredible. Lighting was difficult to say the least and our ears were ringing when we left.
As usual I spent this morning in the backyard and happened on a hawk that I could not ID.
Wait it’s a Cooper’s Hawk.
I had a Mini ITX motherboard laying around so I bought a few items and now Sandy’s got a new mini. I should have it put together shortly.
Internally its a Intel DG45FC running a Intel E7600 (3.06GHz core 2) with 2GB of DDR2-800 RAM. Storage is on a Seagate 320GB 2½” 5400RPM SATA hard drive. I threw in a Blu Ray player/DVD burner as well. Now she can finally run iTunes since it’ll be an XP machine rather than the old Windows 2K Mini ATX P4 2.8GHz machine she’s been running for years.
Overkill… maybe.
In preparation for Mutha’s Day celebration, I tried a couple crispy pork belly recipes. After two failures I think I have the right one.
Sandy also tried her seared scallops & fennel dish.
I try to avoid powering up my computer on the weekend mornings because I end up geeking til the afternoon. So today right after I made coffee I went out to the backyard. If I sit long enough I see something to shoot.
We celebrated Cait’s birthday tonight at Gerry’s Grill in Union City. Happy Birthday Cait!
