Auntie Sachi retires

Last night, we were invited to a celebration for my Auntie Sachi at the Olympic Club in San Francisco. After 36 years as a school teacher, she has decided to retire. I got to see a side of my auntie I have never seen before… her professional persona. It was amazing to witness the outpouring of admiration and love. I have to admit I was brought to tears a few times. Congratulations, Auntie!

We decided to stay at the Prescott Hotel right across the street from the club which made it so much easier Friday morning.

Mum’s Day 08

This year, we wanted to do something special for the Moms, so Sandy and I planned a five-course meal for lunch. Then Jimi got involved and kicked it up a notch … or should I say 6 notches. The menu became very complex! I had visions of Hell’s Kitchen. It took days to prepare for the event. Happily everything came together without any blood being drawn. Thanks to everyone who pitched in: the cooks, servers, platers, dishwashers, photographers and of course, the Moms.

Wow we have enough leftovers for the rest of the week!

By the way, happy birthday Cait!
