Got a haircut today and just realized that with my thinning hair I’ve come full circle, with hair style that is.

The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
Got a haircut today and just realized that with my thinning hair I’ve come full circle, with hair style that is.
I spotted what looked like a Danny in a red turtleneck the other day; this is a 1st. From what very little research I’ve done, I believe it’s a Nankeen Night Heron. I can’t imagine what he’s doing way out here. Must be the presence of so many ducklings on the lagoon. For night herons, it’s like an all you can eat buffet. Sorry for the terrible photos.
This lagoon is getting crowded. I’m envisioning some territorial duck violence in the near future.
When the Snowy Egret is stressed from work (lots of Egret politics), he goes fishing to relax. He does not practice catch and release though.
This year we decided to go to the City to watch the fireworks, relax and be tourists. Sandy booked us a room at the Sheraton one block from Pier 39. We strolled the Fisherman’s Wharf and had a tasty lunch at In N’ Out.
We got our exercise on a long walk out to Fort Mason, snapped a few shots, then back to the hotel for a power nap (we’re getting old).
Dinner was at Ristorante Fior d’ Italia. After dinner we raced over to the top of the parking structure across from Pier 39 which we thought would be the ideal venue for watching fireworks… uh, so did a bunch of other people by the way.
I had an intruder this evening! I was so nervous I couldn’t get a good shot.
Did an overnighter in SLC, ventured out in the evening and shot the famous LDS Salt Lake Temple with my G7, handheld 1/25th f3.2, ISO 1600. Really noisy eh.
We had a very full weekend. Today Ate Anna and Stephen came over for lunch. We started off with a great green salad by Sandy. I grilled pork ribs, chicken, corn on the cob & asparagus. This was followed up with some homemade macapuno ice cream.
Shortly after our meal I had to run Tita Flor over to the Amtrak station at JLS to catch her train back to Sacramento.
Of course I forgot to photograph the food!
Uncle Russell turned 60 today. We were invited to a surprise birthday party at the beautiful home of Sheldon & Debbie. There was way too much great tasting food.
Humm… 1947, Uncle wasn’t that before cars were invented?
