The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
What a gorgeous day for a premeditated date. I hopped on the Harbor Bay Ferry and met Sandy in the city. We then strolled over to Sai’s for a tasty bowl of Phó.
It was a decent day as far as the weather goes, so on my way home I stopped off at Treasure Island to shoot a couple of Panoramas with my G7. The 1st photo is stitched together from 8 vertical images. The second is 7 horizontal images. For obvious reasons I can’t offer the full resolution images as they are approx 28MB.
Well it’s been 3 days now and we still have all 4 little ducklings. I’m hopeful that this is not just by chance, that the small family protected by an experienced mother is paying off. Not to mention the 6 lbs of scratch I’ve fed them.
According to Billboard, Jon’s new CD is now #8. Those 5 CDs I bought at the flea market must have paid off… funny they were in a Kenny Rogers case.
This morning I looked outside and was greeted by the sight of a new duckling brood. Broods are normally 10-12 so this is quite a small family. Now we usually avoid getting too attached to the young newbies of the lagoon because their life expectancy is approximately 24 hours. I’ll keep my eye out for them and hope for the best. Let’s not mention anything to Danny!
Today we visited the Legion of Honor on an accidental date (Sandy loves those). We were recently there to watch Jon perform at the Florence Gould Theater and I knew we had to go back during the daylight hours. While I was out shooting pictures, Sandy wandered into the museum and to my surprise bought us a year long membership. We strolled the exhibits and had a nice little lunch at their cafe’. The meal was excellent with the exception of some rather aggressive onion eating birds.
Happy Father’s Day to all you fathers out there, but especially mine. Man did he put up with a lot of *&%$ raising me. Thanks Dad, I love you.
Photo circa 1976, Honolulu.
We ventured out to Isleton this year for the 22nd annual Crawdad Festival. We enjoyed the smoked turkey legs, enormous onion rings and of course a large order of crawdads. Man they were spicy. Promoters estimate a crowd of 50,000 and 24,000 lbs of boiled crawdads to be consumed.
Now I don’t mean for this to become a Jon… uh whatz his name website,
but damn I’m proud of him, #13 this week.
I look forward to our trip midsummer, hopefully I’ll get the chance to photograph him performing. I’ve been trying for years and this is the best I’ve got, which is pretty bad.
Today there is sadness in the house as Sandy sold her buddy Tessi Tacoma. She’s served us well but now that I have a company vehicle (Maxi) someone had to go.
