Thanksgiving 2020

This year Thanksgiving was very different. We just stayed at home the 2 of us. I still got to grill my spatchcocked burd, but gone were those obnoxious kids running and yelling all over the damn place… although I do miss that.

As mentioned previously I roasted the purple potatoes (a new technique). The water turned green when I boiled em, that scared the sh*t outta me… not enough that I wouldn’t eat em though.

The rest of the weekend consisted of leftovers. I did make my 1st attempt at Omurice (needs work) and we got some great desserts from your neighbors.

Green Acres

I finally dug up my purple potatoes that I started Aug 1st. I’m glad I don’t have to to do this to survive as its not exactly a bumper crop. Nonetheless we will enjoy them for Thanksgiving later this week.

Survival Training

This morning we had a survival drill. We ate SPAM that had a best by date of November 2018. I believe SPAM will last at least 20 years, but if I am wrong and don’t post anything tomorrow call 911.

In keeping with this theme. I also found a can of tuna fish that had a best by date of June 2018.

POS Sunset

Sometimes I run down to the shore and there is nothing to shoot. So I end up sitting on a log watching the clouds swallow up the sun.

Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center

Took a quick trip to the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center to shoot the sunset. Unfortunately by the time I got there the clouds disappeared.

Middle Harbor Shoreline Park

Took a trip to Middle Harbor Shoreline Park. I’ve never seen so many ding dang burds in my life.

K&F Concept

I received a new K&F filter. What makes this one different is that is has both circular polarizer & variable neutral density elements. The skies have been so boring lately, but today finally we got some clouds.

Sandy made dinner with some leftovers, it was so tasty.

Keira’s Mulan

I’m not sure how Halloween will play out this year, but I wanted to do something nice for our neighbor Keira. This was especially true when I heard that she likes Mulan, so we did a photoshoot.

It’s been so long since I did a shoot, I was a bit off my game. That only means I have to shoot more. Here are some outtakes.

On the technical side, this was my 1st chance to use the Magmod Magbox. It was a bit small at 24″, but was light in weight and quick to setup.
