Had work up north and I didn’t want to stay in the hotel, so I drove out to Fort Bragg. After dinner at the North Coast Brewery I checked out Glass Beach. As it usually happens to me the skies were gray & gloomy.
There was a thunderstorm so I ran outside to the backyard. I setup my lightning trigger & thought I would catch some great stuff… but the trigger was to slow! So I reverted to my old ways and set the camera for a 25 sec exposure and keep my thumb on the shutter release.
Had a date night at Ozumo in SF.
Saturday was our 17th Wedding Anniversary. Unfortunately Sandy was just flying in from Manila so we waited til Sunday for a little lunch celebration at Coqueta.
Since Sandy is away I have to keep busy. So I decided to go to Muir Beach to catch the sunset. It was extremely gloomy when I arrived. I shot a few then left… to early, I saw the sun peak out of the clouds as bright fire ball in my rearview mirror as I was half an hr away.
Woke up early this morning to drive out to Point Reyes. Don’t know why I thought the weather would be clear. My feet did get soaked for the shot below.
Tami invited us on a camping trip… I haven’t been camping since 1983/4. The venue was at Memorial Park in San Mateo county.
Today we celebrated Ethan’s 2nd birthday… where is the time going?
I had to work in Gualala again so I took my camera out to shoot a few. The weather was terrible, very gloomy.
We had Koa over last week for a little visit. More importantly I tried my Godox TT350 in the S1 mode. In the S1 mode and flash will trigger the Godox. Now since my Sony RX100V is my most utilized camera I’ve always wanted to do off camera flash shots with it, but the lack of hot shoe prevented me from doing this. I hoped this S1 mode would be a game changer but as you can see from the 2nd shot the Godox would not fire in bright sunlight. I’ll have to work around those limitations.
