RIP Judy

Today tragedy fell upon us as our beloved Judy Burd passed away. By our best estimate she was about 20 years old. While she and I never quite got along, she was usually my 1st subject whenever I got a new camera or lens. About the only interaction we had was the UFC game, whereas I would thrust my elbow at her and she would attack it with a soft bite and a protesting scream. She has been featured in my blog a number of times starting from August 2007 (do a search on “Judy”). She will be missed.

Canon EOS M arrives

The Canon EOS M was a long time in coming. I have such a problem with the weight of my big cameras. It’s been back ordered since July & I’ve been chomping at the bit for this one. I’m hoping that I can use this as a mini portrait machine. It’ll take all my Canon lenses (with an EF lens adapter) and can control all of my speedlites both optically and and radio waves. Meanwhile I’ve been testing it for the past few days. I do like the shallow depth of field I can achieve on this.
