The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
This year we have multiple duck families in competition for the lagoon rights.
I found a blind ducky in our lagoon. It was just swimming in circles and appeared to be in distress. I scooped it up and we took it in for a bit of comfort. Unfortunately it didn’t make it, but I suppose it was better than being eaten by a night heron.
The family finally decided to get together, so Jon had a Christmas Party in July since we skipped it last December. I had a hard time breaking away from socializing to take a few portraits.
I mistakenly called this Oracle, it’s now Ring Central Coliseum. Anyway I went there to photograph the fireworks after the Oakland As game. The last time I did this was 2014.
The egret was putting on a fishing show this afternoon. The ducks weren’t impressed as they’re vegan.
Got a glimpse at this years 1st little duckies. Of course the egret & the hummer couldn’t be upstaged so they made an appearance.
Shot a egret this morning.
I got an orchid from my Mother’s place and it just recently bloomed. Don tells me it’s a Philippine Ground Orchid. Doh I’ll be re-potting all of those in soil this weekend.
Tom asked for family portraits and I gladly agreed. The Veterans Memorial Park was to be the venue. Because of the youngsters we agreed on 4:00PM, which was a lighting challenging to say the least. My 600 watt strobe was under powered for the group shot.
Social media vs reality: I used google maps to find Lands End Labyrinth and the photo looked interesting so I thought I would go there since I was gonna be in the area. Notice the photo on the left was from August 2020 courtesy of Jukapun Jin. Photo on right is what I found.
