Fleet Week 2018

As usual the opportunity to photograph the Blue Angels is such a draw for me. This year I signed up for a workshop on Saturday that enabled me to get rooftop access at a great location to the Fleet Week festivities. Without a big DSLR to weigh me down, I brought along my A6500 with a 70-300mm lens. I tested this setup on Friday and it worked out fine so Saturday was a go. Here is a combination of Friday & Saturday. I apologize after awhile all these start to look the same.

Golden Gate Bridge/Marshall’s Beach & Dessert

Izzy & family were out visiting from AZ and Damon requested a photoshoot of the bridge. It was a gloomy day in San Francisco, I brought a half charged and a dead battery! It was a long hike back up to the car. When we got home I muttered something to Sandy about my condition. She quickly responded, “You’re having dessert?” I said no my calves hurt… We need hearing aids.

If the skies are overcast I usually go black & white in post processing. Below I tried to use split toning in Lightroom. I’m not completely satisfied with the results.
