Tjader bought us a nice sushi lunch. (He tried to use a Discover card, no one takes that anymore.) So I thought I’d repay him by shooting some portraits.

The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
Tjader bought us a nice sushi lunch. (He tried to use a Discover card, no one takes that anymore.) So I thought I’d repay him by shooting some portraits.
2nd best thing about eating out Filipino is having leftovers for breakfast. This morning Pork Sisig Silog. Well technically I used steamed not fried rice, but you get the idea.
Picked up Tita Nene last night and noticed SFO was adorned in Giants orange. While I don’t follow any sports, the orange glow was quite cool. I’ll try to shoot Coit tower as it is lit up, too.
Today I spent all day in San Francisco at the Left Space Studios to attend a Canon Live Learning event. If my photography skills get better it was worth the price; if they don’t, that means I’m incapable of learning anything.
We were invited to celebrate Tita Susan’s birthday last night at Mana in San Mateo. I haven’t seen her in such a long time.
I found out via Cait’s posting on Facebook that Lindsay’s choreography was featured at a Santa Clara University dance recital. Well I couldn’t make the Saturday performance so I opted to show up at the dress rehearsal to see if could grab a few shots. The lighting was difficult to say the least.
There’s nothing better than a a pretty woman who is fully armed! Last night I got the rare chance to photograph my buddy Mary Ann. I’ve been wanting to shoot her for quite some time, but we’re never in the same place at the same time. We arrived late so I decided to ditch all but a single speedlite. Luckily the weather cooperated for once.
Last Sunday we celebrated Grandma’s 100 birthday at the Japanese Cultural Center in Honolulu. I don’t remember the last time we all got together. I hope it’s not the last.
This was our 1st trip to the garden isle.
1st of all there are feral chickens everywhere. There are 3 theories/stories on why there are so many chickens on Kauai.
1. The original Polynesians brought them over.
2. Hurricane Iniki destroyed the chicken farms and they escaped.
3. Filipinos brought over fighting breeds for cockfighting.
Now they have all bred into a single species that inhabit the island and since they are illegal to hunt, they are found everywhere. We couldn’t stop laughing at all the chickens we saw each day.
We stayed at the Courtyard in Kapaa, thanks Rhea.
I was surprised to see a wind turbine in Hawaii, so energy efficient. I saw an energy efficient cat too.
Among the sites Kauai Coffee Company for some excellent coffee.
Waimea Canyon was an incredible sight.
I was a little disappointed to see so many vendors outside the Spouting Horn, Poipu.
Food was a little limited but we did find a good dinner at The Eastside Resturant.
Kilauea Lighthouse. Perfect timing to go as they were renovating the lighthouse.
The state bird, the Nene.
Sandy found her favorite beach in Hanalei, which I forgot to photograph.
It’s been too long since we last saw Tami & Chris, let alone Mr. Noah. I thought now would be a good time to shoot ’em. I chose a seaside setting. The mornings have been cloudy lately but I lucked out today.
