Yesterday on our morning walk, Sandy & I found a set of keys including what appeared to be a car key for a Honda. We figured that the keys were accidentally dropped by someone who was still parked in the area so we walked back towards the ferry terminal, pushing the alarm button around all …

Philippine bound
Today after the girls came back from church, we ventured into downtown Alameda for a terrific brunch at Ćera Una Volta. Then we strolled the local shops on Park Street until it was showtime at the newly renovated Alameda Theater. We enjoyed Iron Man but I got a stomach ache from all the popcorn. Our weekend with our lovely niece was …
Tawny’s here!
Tawny is visiting with us on her way to the Philippines for a vacation. Today, we decided to go to the DeYoung Museum for some art and culture. Afterwards we slurped down some ramen.
Mum’s Day 08
This year, we wanted to do something special for the Moms, so Sandy and I planned a five-course meal for lunch. Then Jimi got involved and kicked it up a notch … or should I say 6 notches. The menu became very complex! I had visions of Hell’s Kitchen. It took days to prepare for the event. Happily everything …
PJ’s Oysterbed
After being down all week with the mean flu, it was great to be able to go out and see some family. Jen was nice enough to organize a birthday get together for me. Asked where I wanted to go, I thought of PJ’s Oysterbed. The 1st and last time I was there was the night I met Sandy …
Valentine’s Day
I’ve been talking about this so much lately… Sandy was nice enough to get me a bottle for V Day. Isn’t she the best! Jimi & Jim when you guys coming over? For dinner I grilled a duck… store bought not yard caught, then we watched Underdog.
Skates
Today I got together with my coworkers for an early dinner meeting at Skates. This rarely happens… in fact, it’s the 1st time. There are only three of us in Northern California. Dinner was great as usual. Of course I had to run off and shoot a panorama of the Berkeley Pier.
Havana
Since I stayed indoors all day, we decided to go out for dinner and try that new Cuban restaurant in town, Havana. Entrees were skipped in favor of tapas. We had the Twice Fried Plantains, Halibut Ceviche, Mixed Grill and Crab Cakes. Everything was excellent! Did I forget to mention the Mojitos.
Phở Weather
A rainy day like today is perfect Phở weather! So I picked up Sandy at BART and we went to our favorite Phở establishment. I got so excited I forgot to take a photograph before we devoured our meal. Here’s the aftermath.
Life On the Road
Today Sandy had the day off so I showed her what life on the road for me is like. I had a call to make in Visalia. So off we went on a central valley adventure. I worked while Sandy explored the downtown area. Afterwards we stopped at the Bravo Cheese Factory and Cafe 99 …
