The life and times of a true knucklehead – No photos to be used without permission
Just as we were about to leave for LA there was a flurry of burd activity. We spent so much time observing them it delayed our departure. We were happy to see a brood of new ducklings, 10 of them to be exact.
Ben will never win any beauty contests.
This year to celebrate Mutha’s Day, we procured a whole roasted piggy. To serve alongside that, we had grilled golden pompano, steamed mussels, green mango salad with shrimp, Hawaiian mac salad, garlic bokchoy. For apps, Jen brought SPAM musubi & tuna poke. Cait made a lovely plate of homemade hummus & pita breads. For desert, we served grilled pineapple, croissant bread pudding with a Jack Daniels sauce & macapuno ice cream.
Today’s lunch coincided with a Jon concert in Santa Rosa. So Aunty Karen & Aunty Sachi were in Santa Rosa. As if that would be better than lunch over here. Meanwhile Tami gave birth while in LA and could not travel. Then Rick got sick because Jen made him do yardwork all day yesterday. So we were a small crowd. All the more attention we can give to Aunty Janet & Aunty Amy.
We’re both so tired but it was all worth it.
We’ll be eating pork soup, pork salad, pork sandwiches & pork pudding for the next 2 weeks.
Just got a new 320EX. It’s nice, compact and has a white LED for focus assist.
We got the news on Sunday that while in LA Tami gave birth to, to… uh since he was early they didn’t even have a name picked out. So we are proud of our new nephew… whatever his name is, uh Baby Yuen!
This morning we got together in Milpitas at ABC Seafood for a Dim Sum celebration of Cait & Kathy’s birthday.
Weekend morning ritual, coffee, cam, lagoon. Followed by a duck shoot….
After dumping my cup of coffee all over the kitchen counter, I did my morning ritual of watering the plants & sitting by the water with camera in tow waiting for something to happen.
We’re finalizing Mutha’s Day menu which meant taking a trip down to San Leandro to visit with some piggy’s.
In the evening, we ventured into downtown Alameda to the Kofman Theatre to watch United We Dance. The Pilipinos were especially good. I was told beforehand no cameras were allowed but as the program started they announced no “Flash Photography” allowed, Doh! Needless to say since I didn’t have my camera in hand the performers were very colorful.
Had to work in San Jose so I gave Jon a call and he took me out to Orenchi Ramen. It was so good.
Later in the evening, Arlene met us in the City. We had a Cuban dinner at Cha Cha Cha. The Lechon Asado was great.
I was so food focused today I forgot to photograph Jon or Arlene.
Sandy was asked to shoot photos of her church’s Easter Egg Hunt. I followed to see if I could help. Millions of eggs laid out then picked up in what seemed like 5 minutes. It was so difficult to get a good shot. It reminded me of a video game on my iPad. Of course Sandy’s pix are much better, that really pi…. nevermind.
